Attitude Dance Group Covid Plan & Procedures

Things will be a little different when your child returns to dance class.  I have completed a ‘Covid 19 Plan and Risk Assessment’ which myself and volunteers have been trained on. The new Covid 19 Risk Assessment and plan has new procedures including increased infection control and hygiene measures.  I have followed Scottish Government Guidelines in relation to the new measures that will be in place in order for us to safely re-open.  Please see below the measures we will be taking in our new ‘Covid 19 plan and Risk Assessment’.

Our Risk Assessment and COVID-19 Plan includes:

Infection prevention and control taken from Health Protection Scotland.  There are a range of key practices that providers should consider in relation to hygiene and the prevention and control of the spread of infection.

  • Cleaning Practices

  • Ventilation

  • Enhanced Hand Hygiene

  • If/when a Child becomes ill

Cleaning Practices- Dance Teacher and volunteers have been trained in all cleaning practices that will take place.  Attitudes cleaning practices have been increased.  Extra time in between each class has been put in place to allow sufficient time to wipe down surfaces, clean toilet facilities, belonging/footwear boxes and floor area.

Ventilation-  Windows and doors will remain open to increase ventilation in the building whilst class is taking place.

Enhanced Hand Hygiene - Hand sanitising points will be available throughout the Studio.  There will be one situated at the main entrance before entering the Studio and also inside the Studio.  Students will be reminded before start of class to thoroughly wash their hands after using toilet facilities.

If/when a child becomes ill - If a child becomes unwell during class with or without Covid-19 symptoms, we have an isolated area in our reception room.  Attitude has purchased a non-touch thermometer should a child display signs of being unwell, this is not in government guidelines but was purchased as a precautionary measure for the safety of your child and others.

 Entry/Drop Off

Socially distance yellow markers will be painted on the ground outside the studio.  When dropping off your child please wait on these markers.  If your child is 12yrs and older and comes down without a parent/carer they must also stand on a marker before being allowed into the studio.  Hand sanitiser will be located outside the studio and all students must apply this before entering the studio.  No parents/carers will be allowed to enter the studio.  Please arrive on time and do not bring your child any earlier/later than the class start time.

Footwear/Personal belongings

NO personal belongings or outdoor shoes/trainers will be allowed in the main dance hall, students must bring a change of shoes/trainers with them to class.  Individual Boxes will be provided in the entrance area of the building to allow students to put their belongings/footwear in. Teacher/volunteers will be there to help the younger students with this. As per our terms and conditions we advise that students do not bring any valuables (i.e. phones, jewellery etc) with them to class. Attitude do not accept any liability for lost or damaged belongings.

Students can bring a water bottle into class with them, please ensure your child’s name is on their water bottle.

Collecting Students

Please follow the same procedure as with entry/drop off.  A member of Attitude will help change your Childs footwear and help gather their belongings and hands will be sanitised again before leaving the studio.  Please ensure that you pick up your child on time of class finishing.

Masks

Masks will only be worn by Dance Teacher/Volunteers when greeting/leaving the students as they enter/leave the studio, or if a child became ill.  There are no guidelines to say that students are to wear a mask when attending class.  However it is your prerogative if you would like your child to wear one.

Social Distancing

  • Children aged 5 years and under do NOT need to social distance from the Dance teacher and other children in their class.

  • Children aged 11 years and under DO need to social distance from the dance teacher but NOT from other children in their class.

  • Children aged 12 years and over DO need to social distance from the dance teacher and DO need to social distance from other students in their class.  Markers have been provided on the dance studio floor to ensure social distancing guidelines are met.  Attitude has limited their class numbers also to meet Government Guidelines.
